Row repeat glitch effect for stuck scanlines
Row Repeat copies one source row downward through part of a horizontal band. The band sticks on that row instead of shifting sideways.
Vertical detail collapses into a repeated strip. A flat area shows less, because there is little row-to-row difference to copy.
Creative applications
- Hold a highlight or letter edge so it repeats as a stuck scanline.
- Interrupt a portrait with a few frozen horizontal strips.
Starting workflow
- Open Row Repeat on an image with vertical edges or lettering.
- Raise Repeat length until the copied row is obvious, then lower Coverage so only some bands stick.
- Pause playback to judge one arrangement. Run motion when you want the chosen row to refresh.
Key controls
- Repeat length
Increase Repeat length to copy the chosen row farther down the band. Zero leaves the picture unchanged.
Default: 4% · Range: 0% to 20%
- Band height
Set Band height for the spacing of candidate strips. Repeat length never extends past that band.
Default: 5% · Range: 1% to 20%
- Coverage
Lower Coverage to keep some bands stable.
Default: 0.5 · Range: 0 to 1
Practical tips
- Use Slice Shift when the band should move sideways instead of repeating one row.
- Use Line Jitter when each line should wander on its own.
- Keep playback paused at the same time while comparing Repeat length and Band height.
Limitations
- The copied row refreshes with playback. This effect does not hold a previous video frame.
